Cellphone water damage, backlight broken?
deathvalley_queen asked:
I have this old Motorola cellphone which I ended up cancelling last year because of water damage. I was putting away toilet paper in the bathroom at work, and when i leaned over the toilet, my phone fell out of my pocket and into the toilet. Thank god the toilet was clean. I pulled it out, opened the back and dried out the battery and the inside of the phone. The phone functions alright, but the backlight won't come on anymore. This phone isn't activated anymore, but I was wondering if there is a way to fix the backlight. Or, will getting the backlight repaired cost more than just buying a nicer phone.

Repairing Water Damage
Whenever a phone suffers from liquid or moisture damage, usually copper pieces on the computer board inside will thurn green and start corroding. This causes all sorts of electrical shorts and can make a phone do crazy thing. Best to just replace the phone.
